Helminthix Member Commitment

Helminthix is a community for people who want to help accelerate science, collaboration and innovation against helminth diseases and related neglected tropical diseases.

By joining Helminthix Members, you agree to this Member Commitment, our Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and the policies linked below.

Membership is personal

Helminthix membership is for individual people.

You may work for a university, hospital, company, funder, public body, NGO, laboratory or other organisation. However, your membership does not mean that your organisation has joined, endorsed, funded, sponsored or partnered with Helminthix.

Please do not claim that your organisation supports, funds, partners with, or has committed resources to Helminthix unless you are authorised to say this and Helminthix has confirmed it.

As a member, please do

• Be respectful, professional and constructive.
• Be honest about who you are, where you work, and what authority you have.
• Help create a safe and welcoming community, especially for students, early-career members, members from affected regions and people in lower-resource settings.
• Respect other members' time, expertise, privacy and boundaries.
• Use introductions responsibly.
• Protect confidential, unpublished, personal or sensitive information.
• Declare relevant conflicts of interest where appropriate.
• Follow the laws, rules, ethics approvals, funder terms and institutional policies that apply to your work.
• Report serious concerns to Helminthix.

As a member, please do not

• Harass, bully, discriminate against, exploit, threaten or intimidate other members.
• Misrepresent your qualifications, affiliation, authority, access to resources, funding, data, samples, laboratory capacity or organisational support.
• Make commitments on behalf of an employer, institution, company, funder or organisation unless you are authorised to do so.
• Use Helminthix member details for spam, mass marketing, unrelated recruitment, fundraising or commercial approaches.
• Share another member's personal information without permission.
• Misuse unpublished science, research ideas, grant ideas, data, samples, compounds, software, protocols or confidential information.
• Offer, request or accept bribes, kickbacks, improper payments, personal favours or other improper benefits.
• Put pressure on students, junior colleagues, field workers, clinicians, patients, affected communities or lower-resourced partners to accept unfair arrangements.
• Use Helminthix for illegal, unsafe, corrupt, exploitative or unethical activity.

Some activities, such as closed working groups, grant applications, data projects, lab collaborations, clinical discussions or organisational partnerships, may have additional rules or agreements.

If you experience or witness behaviour that may breach this Member Commitment or Helminthix policies, please contact: magdalena@helminthix.org.

Helminthix may warn, restrict, suspend or remove a member where needed to protect members, partners, Helminthix or the integrity of the community.

By joining or continuing to use Helminthix Members, I agree to follow this Member Commitment and the Helminthix policies that apply to my involvement.
